Contact Kay & Dixie Lavish Soap Oamaru whose handmade soap is suitable for all skin types especially sensitive skins.

Kay Parker and Dixie Boraman are proud to present to you their range of traditionally handcrafted soaps.  It took us over a year to get our recipe how we wanted it and we are really pleased with what we have developed to date.

We continue to develop new ideas, mostly based on the feedback from our customers so we are always striving to improve our product.

We had some key principles that we started with and we won't compromise on.

  • The highest quality of ingredients will be used always, organic if possible.
  • Our Palm Oil is purchased from Cargill Palm Products in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They are members of the Roundtable On Sustainable Palm Oil.
  • To make our soap in small batches to ensure the lovely creamy texture.
  • The most simple and environmentally friendly packaging.
  • To only test our soap on family and friends, not animals! (Except the Pet Soap of course)
  • Only using vegetable oils.
  • To enjoy what we do.

Dixie lives on a lifestyle block in the Waitaki Valley, North Otago with her husband Ted, a charter boat skipper, and her two children Victor & Irina.  She loves the country life and is trying to be more self sufficient.  She has 2 cats a 2 dogs, chickens, ducks, sheep and cattle and now a Horse - much to the husbands disgust!!!  (Update  -Granite -the horse has been donated to the Totara Historical estate as he wasn't getting the attention he needed.  Funny how kids promise on their lives to do all the looking after and lose enthusiasm quickly!!)  Dixie enjoys the close knit rural community- even if her 17 year old daughter would rather be in town!

Kay moved 3 years ago from a lifestlye block in the Waitaki Valley (Dixies neighbour) to a quarter acre section at the north end of Oamaru. Her  parnter Alan had finished building a new house two years previously so new gardens were to become a passion and the purchase of a spoodlle puppy has added a new dimension to the family. She has two grown sons who work within rural communties.

Lavish Soap has now shifted to new premises in Oamaru and we are now at 1 Itchen Street.  We are open 7 days.  10 am to 4.30 pm.  weekends we don't open until 10.30 and finish 2 ish- depends if anyone is around.

Thank you for your interest and we hope you enjoy using and giving the soaps as much as we enjoy making them.
